“I worked with Dr. Caitlin for physical therapy and as a run coach. She is an excellent listener who thinks about training and pain holistically, and I found it so helpful to work with someone who could consider the way my pain was affecting my training and vise-versa. I had limited success with other physical therapists who treated my knee pain while I was also trying to get back to regular running. I went from being unable to run to being able to run but with some pain and back to being unable to run. But when I started working with Dr. Caitlin, she constantly tweaked and revised my treatments and training plan to help me progress. The training plan always felt manageable and responsive to my comfort level and schedule, and I am finally running pain-free again for the first time in years!"

“I found Dr Caitlin as a recommendation from my triathlon community. I had previously seen another pelvic floor physical therapist with my first two pregnancies but felt that I would benefit from working with a pelvic floor PT who was also an endurance athlete and very familiar with the load of training. And was I right! Working with Dr Caitlin has been absolutely phenomenal - she's not only helped me return to running safely after my third child was born, but she's so good at being able to identify what are the root causes of my ailments. I see her regularly to address the random woes that appear each week and it's time well spent. She really takes the time to listen to what you're telling her and you can actively see the gears turning as she comes up with new ideas and modifications. In addition to manual work, we've also done cupping and dry needling - both of which have really helped in addressing some of my long standing woes. I highly recommend Dr Caitlin to anybody who is looking for care!”

“Caitlin has been very beneficial in my running journey as well as pregnancy and postpartum. She helped me have the confidence, and exercises I needed to continue running my entire pregnancy safely as well as returning postpartum. Any time something pops up I have questions on, Caitlin is always willing and happy to help. She's helped me through foot pain, back pain, pelvic floor relaxation/strengthening, and labor prep tips just to name a few. I'm very thankful for her knowledge and expertise. I highly recommend working with Caitlin!”

“I first came to see Dr. Caitlin at Optimal Performance when I started training for the 2022 Chicago Marathon. I had a history of injuries, most notably lagging issues from a labral tear and resulting hip arthroscopy in 2018. I had gotten back to running, but still felt that things weren’t working as well as they could be.
Dr.Caitlin worked with me on some hip strengthening and general conditioning to ensure I had a solid foundation for running and it was a game changer. I felt stronger than I had in years. Unfortunately, I ended up with Achilles issues and a bad calf strain which took me out of training one month out from the race that year, so I deferred my entry to 2023.
I then worked with Dr. Caitlin to resolve my calf strain and some really stubborn Achilles and calf/ankle issues over the next 10-12 months and started training for the 2023 race. Dr. Caitlin helped me with strength exercises to build a strong base, increase my training load and generally keep running safely, even though it felt pretty challenging on many days.
About halfway through this year’s training, everything we had been working on came together and my body felt really strong. That carried me through the race and I set a PR 17 years after my last marathon. I owe so much to Dr. Caitlin for teaching me about loading, strength and generally helping me figure out my body.
If you are a runner (or anyone) who has an injury, or just nagging pain that you haven’t been able to work through, I highly recommend working with Dr. Caitlin. She is so knowledgeable and an expert in working with runners. I’m certainly not a competitive athlete, but I like to run and push myself. Before seeing Dr. Caitlin I was in a rut when running just felt hard and uncomfortable. Dr. Caitlin helped me work through my injuries, showed me how to be smart in my training and helped me find joy in running again.”

"I've been working with Dr. Caitlin as both my Physical Therapist and run coach for more than a year now and have been nothing short of thrilled with my experience. I originally came to her with overuse injuries in my feet and ankles to which she provided personalized plans that worked for my preferences and schedule. I loved that it never felt like a one size fits all solution. I then started working with her as my run coach as I trained for a half marathon. During that time she created a tailored plan that worked with both my level of fitness and my ongoing injury rehab. That plan led me to a 5 minute PR in the half while still rehabbing and getting stronger!
Most recently, she was my run coach for my first marathon. The plan was updated weekly and included text and call check ins to make sure we were adjusting to any life circumstances, minor injuries, and fitness level. With her training plan I ran the Chicago Marathon, finishing within my goal time and most importantly coming out of it feeling strong with no lingering injuries! I can't recommend Dr. Catilin's services more - I know that I would not be the strong, healthy runner I am today without her help."
