As a physical therapist who has worked with 100s of runners over the past 6 years and as a runner myself, I regularly saw that there was a huge gap in care for runners dealing with an injury. I kept hearing the same story from the runners I was working with: they ended up with an injury, worked with a PT, their pain improved, but as they got back to training, their injury came back or something new popped up leaving them back at square one. Months of training, followed by months of time off, rinse and repeat. But I knew that runners deserved more than this.Â
That is exactly why I created RunWell Co. Physical Therapy & Performance. This isn't your typical physical therapy clinic where we are only dialed in on your injury, what you are doing in the clinic and a printed sheet of exercises to do 5-6 days a week.Â
We start off with a comprehensive initial evaluation where we don't just cover your current injury, but your current training, past training history, life circumstances as well as a physical exam to help us create a long term and personalized plan to guide us through recovery.Â
But getting out of pain is not where we leave you. Our goal is to continue to support you and help you build up more strength and resiliency to help you decrease your future risk of injury and help you achieve your goals. From there, we continue to provide you with support with personalized coaching to help you perform stronger, reduce your risk of injury and find the joy and passion for your running again.Â

Who We Are
Get to know Dr. Caitlin

HI! I'm Dr. Caitlin Capobianco, the founder of RunWell Co. Physical Therapy & Performance.Â

Originally from the Chicago area, I grew up playing just about every sport under the sun and loved being outdoors. Even then, I knew I craved being by the mountains, so headed off to Los Angeles to attend undergrad at the University of Southern California. While attending USC, I was a student athletic trainer for a variety of teams, played lacrosse, fell in love with hiking and ran my first half marathon(under heavy coercion) and my running journey began.Â

After graduation USC with my BS in Kinesiology, I attended WashU in St. Louis for PT school. During my time at school I began to grow a strong interest in working with runners and also helping female athletes with pelvic health concerns.Â

After graduating with my DPT, I headed back to Chicago to begin my career as a PT. After working in a general outpatient clinic for a few years I quickly saw that I was unable to help the runners and athletes I saw in the way I wanted to and that would truly benefit them the most.Â

I shifted to an endurance athlete focused clinic and for 6 years spent time working with 100s of runners, triathletes and fitness focused adults with injuries and pelvic health concerns.Â

During this time, I also began to really focus on my own training, growing a passion for strength training and running. I have run half marathons, full marathons, and trail races.Â

Besides running, I also love traveling and hiking. Recently I moved to Denver, where I decided to continue my mission to bring better and more comprehensive physical therapy and coaching for runners and active adults.Â
